About Us

The establishment of a Unicity in the area of Greater Johannesburg was driven mainly by the realization that the inequities that existed in Greater Johannesburg would be equally unmanageable. The decision to map out a new service delivery plan through the Igoli 2002 Plan has resulted in the creation of 10 independent service provider companies in the form of Utilities.
Agencies and Companies. (AUC's). These entities are Municipal Business Enterprises (MBE's) as defined in the Municipal Systems Act. The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) is one of two Agencies created and was formed in November 2000.
